Central Texas flooding spurs major humanitarian response from H-E-B and North Texans as local businesses and volunteers unite to provide urgent aid

Texas – As Central Texas continues to deal with the catastrophic flooding that has killed more than 100 people, the Texas-based grocery store chain H-E-B is stepping forward to help areas that have been hit hard start the long road to recovery. The corporation, which has its roots in Kerrville, where it was founded, has started a large-scale relief operation to help flood victims right away across the region.

H-E-B said that its emergency response teams are working closely with the American Red Cross, Kerr County officials, and first responders to figure out what people need on the ground and get them the goods they need. Kerrville, San Angelo, and Marble Falls are some of the places that have been affected the hardest and are getting help.

H-E-B is helping with massive donation for flood victims

H-E-B is giving distributed free recovery kits to people who were affected as part of its first round of relief efforts. Each box include things like bottled water, snacks, first aid supplies, cleaning products, and gift cards to assist families fulfill their basic needs while they recover from the damage.

“Our H-E-B Family is heartbroken by the enormous devastation and loss caused by the flooding in and around the Kerrville area,” the company stated in a press release. “We are grateful to local authorities, first responders, and volunteers for their tireless efforts.”

H-E-B has long been noted for responding fast to disasters, frequently before state or federal officials. The company has 455 locations in Texas and Mexico. But this tragedy hits close to heart because the company started in Kerrville more than a century ago. The emotional connection has made the response even more personal.

North Texas donates for catastrophic flooding areas in Central Texas

People across the state are coming together to support the victims, in addition to what the company is doing. The Stockyards district in Fort Worth is holding a donation drive from July 10 to July 31. People are invited to drop off items at places including the Hotel Drover, 97 West Kitchen & Bar, the Stockyards Hotel, H3 Ranch, Hyatt Place Historic Stockyards, and the Stockyards Visitors Center.

The money raised will help people who were affected by the floods, as well as the first responders and volunteers who are working around the clock in disaster areas. If you can’t give in person, you can also give online through different organizations.

The damage is huge, but the quick acts of H-E-B and other community partners show how strong and united Texans are in times of trouble. It may take a long time to rebuild, but these towns won’t have to do it alone if they keep getting help.
