Dallas, Texas – Dallas police have arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with multiple burglary incidents at a business in the Oak Cliff area, authorities confirmed.
Officers were dispatched on February 24, 2026, to the 3800 block of West Illinois Avenue after receiving a report of a burglary in progress. When patrol units arrived at the scene, they observed a suspect later identified as Gabriel Ybarra on the roof of the targeted business.
According to preliminary findings, Ybarra had gained entry to the property by cutting through the roof. Investigators believe he removed approximately $12,000 worth of merchandise before officers reached the location. As police moved in and surrounded the building, the situation took an unexpected turn. Ybarra fell through the roof and into the structure below.
Officers were then able to enter the business and take him into custody without further incident. He was transported to the Dallas County Jail and formally charged with Burglary of a Building – Forced Entry, a state jail felony. The case has been documented under case number 026695-2026.
During the course of the investigation, detectives linked Ybarra to a previous burglary at the same business. That incident occurred on January 31, 2026, and is recorded under case number 018762-2026. Authorities have charged him with an additional count of Burglary of a Building – Forced Entry related to that earlier offense.
Police have not released further details about the recovered property or whether additional charges could follow. The investigation remains active as detectives continue reviewing evidence connected to both incidents.
