Plano, Texas – Authorities in Plano are investigating a deadly hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a pedestrian early Sunday morning on U.S. Highway 75.
According to the Plano Police Department, emergency crews responded to reports of a crash shortly after 3:15 a.m. in the 4000 block of the northbound lanes of US 75. Upon arrival, officers and paramedics found that a person had been struck while walking on the highway. Unfortunately, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said the individual was hit by multiple vehicles, but the first driver who struck the pedestrian fled the scene without stopping. Details about that vehicle or driver have not been released at this time. The Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office has taken custody of the victim, but the person’s identity has not yet been confirmed publicly.
Authorities say they are working to notify the next of kin before releasing any identifying information.
