FBI intensifies hunt for Cindy Rodriguez Singh after capital murder indictment in disappearance of six-year-old son and sudden flight overseas

Texas – A Texas woman accused in the disappearance and presumed death of her six-year-old son has been placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list—a rare escalation in a case that has gripped communities across state and international lines.

Cindy Rodriguez Singh, 40, is now facing a capital murder charge in connection to the suspected killing of her son, Noel Alvarez, who has not been seen since October 2022. The alarming turn of events began with a routine wellness check that quickly unraveled into a cross-continental manhunt.

In March 2023, Texas authorities conducted a welfare visit to check on Noel’s whereabouts. At the time, Singh allegedly told officers that Noel had gone to live with his father in Mexico back in November 2022. That explanation immediately raised red flags, especially when investigators couldn’t find any record or evidence supporting her claim.

Just two days after the wellness check, Singh, her husband, and her six other children boarded a flight to India—without Noel. Authorities believe this sudden departure was a deliberate attempt to flee prosecution. A federal warrant was issued on November 2, 2023, charging Singh with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, shortly after she was formally indicted on capital murder charges.

The FBI has since launched an international search and is offering a \$250,000 reward for information leading to Singh’s arrest. Her addition to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list marks a significant development, signaling both the severity of the charges and the urgency of her capture.

Singh is described as a Hispanic woman, approximately 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighing between 120 and 140 pounds. She has brown eyes, brown hair, and several tattoos on her back, right arm, hand, legs, and calf. Investigators believe she may be in India or Mexico due to her known ties to both countries.

Anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts is urged to contact the FBI by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI or submitting an anonymous tip at the agency’s website. All tips will be handled with strict confidentiality.
