H-E-B expansion reaches Forney with pharmacy, clinic, and BBQ restaurant early February

Forney, Texas – Forney shoppers now have a date to remember as the city gets ready for opening its first H-E-B grocery store. The new grocery store at 11700 U.S. Highway 80 will officially open on Wednesday, February 4. Company spokespersons said the store will open at 6 a.m. and serve customers all day long to honor the milestone.

The event is expected to get a lot of attention in the quickly rising Kaufman County region. As is usual for H-E-B shop openings, the day will involve visits from city authorities and company leaders. The event is an important one for Forney’s shopping scene and shows that the area continues to grow in population and economic growth.

The store, which is around 140,000 square feet, is about 21 miles east of downtown Dallas, near the crossroads of U.S. 80 and Gateway Boulevard. Construction on the project started in October 2024, and over the next year, as residents got more and more excited, the site has slowly taken shape. The building’s size and layout are intended to allow for a wide range of services, not only food shopping.

Company advertising says that the Forney facility will include all the products and services that clients are used to. This includes a full-service pharmacy that has a drive-thru, curbside pickup, and delivery to your home. There will also be a wellness primary care clinic on site and a True Texas BBQ restaurant with its own drive-thru. This will make it easy for people to get meals while they shop.

The company said in a statement about the launch date that it is delighted to strengthen its long-standing presence in the area and keep growing across North Texas. The Forney store will join a growing number of recently opened sites in communities such as Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, Melissa, Prosper, and Rockwall, along with two locations in Tarrant County. Additional stores are also planned or under development in Irving, Denton, Dallas, and Carrollton.

The Forney store is a new chapter for the city, but the grocer has been in the Dallas area for decades. The company came to the area in 2001 when it opened its first Central Market store. Since then, it has grown by building stores in several forms, such as smaller neighborhood stores under a different name.

Analysts in the industry and reports from customers routinely place the company among the best supermarket chains in the country, highlighting the quality of its products, its customer service, and its commitment in the community. For people who live in Forney, the opening in February means not only a new place to shop, but also another proof that the city is growing and becoming more appealing to big stores.
