Mesquite strengthens economic team with Alberto Rivera as Manager of Economic Development

Mesquite, Texas – Leveraging Alberto Rivera’s depth of knowledge and close acquaintance with the community, the City of Mesquite has named him as their new Manager of Economic Development. Serving the city since 2018, Rivera fills in the position with a solid background in business development, sales, and strategic alliances—qualities that fit Mesquite’s objectives of promoting economic growth and drawing investment rather effectively.

Starting his path inside the City of Mesquite as an Economic Development Coordinator, Rivera was instrumental in boosting local business projects. He is quite knowledgeable in project management, digital marketing, and data analysis among other areas.

These abilities have let him significantly support Mesquite’s economic initiatives; his new position will increase his influence even further. Apart from his time with Mesquite, Rivera offers knowledge from his past retail management job, where he occupied leadership positions across Utah. He effectively managed teams, supervised marketing plans, and guaranteed high degrees of customer satisfaction throughout this period, all of which sharpened his capacity to drive organizational goals in a hectic atmosphere.

Having a master’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University and a bachelor’s degree from Utah Tech University, now Dixie State University, Rivera’s academic background reflects his career experience. Being a multilingual professional proficient in English and Spanish, Rivera’s communication abilities help Mesquite’s varied business community to be engaged and support economic projects that satisfy the demands of every population.

“Alberto has been a key member of the Economic Development team since 2018,” said Director of Economic Development Kim Buttram. “His leadership and knowledge of the community ensures he will seamlessly assume this new role.”

Rivera’s close relationships to nearby companies and knowledge of the city’s economic environment will offer consistency as he assumes more responsibility in organizing and implementing initiatives aiming at economic resilience and development.
