Police say Texas woman intentionally crashed SUV in Fort Worth on NE 28th Street, killing one and injuring another

Fort Worth, Texas – A woman is facing murder charges after police say she deliberately caused a deadly crash in Fort Worth, turning what first appeared to be an accident into a homicide investigation.

Authorities responded to the crash around 12:45 p.m. on February 15 in the 3400 block of NE 28th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered an SUV that had violently struck a light pole. Inside, they found two men—one dead at the scene, the other injured and in need of immediate medical attention.

Detectives quickly determined that the crash was no accident. According to Fort Worth Police Department, the driver, 29-year-old Emily Garcia, intentionally caused the wreck. She was arrested and is now facing a murder charge as the investigation continues.

Authorities initially described the deceased man as Garcia’s ex-partner but later clarified that the two were still in a relationship at the time of the incident. The nature of their dispute—if any—leading up to the crash remains unknown.

The second victim, whose identity has not been released, was rushed to a local hospital. His current condition is unclear, and investigators have not specified his relationship to Garcia or the deceased man.

As homicide detectives work to piece together what happened, several details remain murky. How did the second victim get injured? Was he in the vehicle, or was he struck in another way? What exactly led Garcia to take such drastic action?

Authorities have not yet shared any motive behind the crash, and the identities of both victims have been withheld.
