Texas Health Rockwall earns prestigious breast imaging accreditation as part of its $3.7 million investment in modernizing diagnostic care for a growing region

Rockwall, Texas – The American College of Radiology (ACR) has given Texas Health Hospital Rockwall an important award by recognizing it as Designated Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center. This accreditation demonstrates that the hospital continues to be committed to offering reliable, high-quality diagnostic services in the battle against breast cancer.

After getting accreditation for important imaging and diagnostic services like mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast MRI, and ultrasound-guided surgeries, the hospital was given the ACR designation. These technologies are very important for finding breast cancer early and making the right diagnosis, both of which are important for getting good treatment results.

This award comes right after the hospital spent a lot of money, $3.7 million, to improve its MRI suite. The remodeling included putting in new imaging technology that was meant to make scans more accurate and comfortable for patients. Jason Linscott, CPA and president of Texas Health Rockwall, says that these investments are part of a larger goal to provide cutting-edge treatment to the region’s rising population.

“We are investing in technology, enhancing our medical services and supporting employee development to care for consumers in our growing region,” Linscott said in a press release. “Earning this designation and adding our new MRI equipment are examples of our continued focus to provide safe, high-quality care for our consumers.”

Texas Health Rockwall had to go through a number of challenging peer reviews by board-certified doctors and medical physicists who were members of the ACR in order to get this title. These checks looked at the quality of the images, the qualifications of the crew, the operation of the equipment, and the safety measures to make sure that all processes matched national standards.

Jackelen Mitchusson, B.S., RT (R)(M), supervisor of the hospital’s Women’s Diagnostic and Breast Center, expressed pride in the recognition.

“Our Mission is to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve,” Mitchusson stated. “We are proud to offer this level of care in Rockwall and for the surrounding communities.”

Texas Health Rockwall has developed consistently with the community. The hospital’s size almost doubled after a big expansion in 2024. More patient beds, a Level 1 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and bigger labor and delivery, emergency, and surgery departments were all added. This expansion has made it more easier for those in Rockwall and the communities east of Lake Ray Hubbard to get care.

Texas Health Rockwall started off as a modest community center in December 2007. Since then, it has grown to serve patients in Rockwall, Kaufman, Hunt, eastern Dallas, and southern Collin counties. This coveted ACR distinction makes it even more clear that it has become a well-known regional medical provider.
