Dallas, Texas – Dallas police have arrested a man who is accused of repeatedly attacking people he knows after a series of violent events. The arrest came after numerous investigations linked 31-year-old Trakari Brown to several incidences of family violence in the neighborhood.
The Dallas Police Department said that on July 1, 2025, officers from the Domestic Violence Unit, Central CRT/Deployment, and Fugitive Units took Brown into custody. His arrest occurred after unsettling claims that came up in June when a victim said Brown had stalked them multiple times. Later, investigators found out that Brown had also hit the victim with a brick.
During the first investigation, the police found out that another law enforcement organization in the Dallas region was already looking into identical claims about the same victim. That link made the case against Brown stronger.

Things got even worse on the day he was arrested. Around midnight on July 1, Brown was reported to have broken into the residence of a second victim, someone he also knew. Brown appears to have beaten the victim, broken things, and taken their wallet and car keys before driving away in their car.
Around 3:45 p.m., little under 16 hours later, officers from the Central CRT and Fugitive Unit were able to find Brown. He was pulled over for a traffic stop and arrested without further incident.
“I am grateful to the Dallas Police officers and detectives who worked tirelessly to investigate these family violence offenses – some of the most sensitive cases we handle,” said Assistant Chief Teena Schultz. “I also commend the victim who had the courage to come forward; speaking out is often the hardest and most crucial step in an investigation like this. If you or someone you know has been the victim of a family violence crime, please call 9-1-1.”

Brown is now facing a number of charges, including Continuous Violence Against the Family and Stalking, both of which are third-degree felonies. He was also arrested on felony and misdemeanor warrants that had already been issued by another agency.
Police have connected the events to case numbers 089171-2025 and 082226-2025. The investigations remain ongoing.
