CTE Champions Night at the Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium to take place on Friday

Rockwall, Texas – The CTE Champions Night is almost here. This is the night to honor the outstanding accomplishments of students in the Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at Dr. Gene Burton College & Career Academy. The Rockwall Independent School District is putting on this important event, which will take place at the famous Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium on Friday, October 27.

CTE Champions Night award ceremony

The evening’s main event, the awards ceremony, will start at 6:45 p.m. and shine a light on state, national, and foreign students who have won awards for their outstanding skill, dedication, and creativity in their CTE programs. As a key part of the Dr. Gene Burton College & Career Academy, these programs have regularly turned out young professionals who make important contributions in many fields.

Rockwall-Heath vs Royse City

After we say “well done” to the winners, there will be a fun football game. Rockwall-Heath is playing against Royse City and the game is set to start at 7 p.m. The Rockwall community is getting together to celebrate the smart students and also to cheer for the school teams. It’s about showing the community is proud of the school system, enjoying the sports, and coming together as friends and neighbors.

The Rockwall Independent School District is very proud of what these kids have done. Not only does CTE Champions Night honor these young people, it also shows how academic and technical education can work together to give students important skills that can be used in the real world. People in our community know how important these programs are, and the Rockwall Independent School District can’t wait to celebrate the kids’ hard work and accomplishments.
