Rockwall, Texas – On November 18, at the Rockwall County Library, the Rockwall County Master Gardeners will hold a class about Texas unique plants. This class is open to anyone who loves nature. The event is set to take place in the library’s large meeting room from 10:30 am to noon. It will include learning, community building, and some door prizes.
Texas NATIVE Plants class is all about learning to grow plants that grow in Texas
As winter comes, the Rockwall County Master Gardeners want to keep the colors alive by teaching people about the many types of hardy plants that grow in Texas. The class, called “Texas NATIVE Plants,” is open to anyone who loves plants, wants to protect the earth, or just wants to add some Texas pride to their garden.
People who take part will be able to learn a lot about the plants that grow in Texas. The goal of the class is to teach attendees about the ecological value of native plants and give them tips on how to use them in their own yards. Master Gardeners will lead the workshop and use their many years of experience in gardening to teach people how to choose, grow, and take care of native Texas plants.
Attendees will learn how to grow Texas native plants perfect for our hot climate
In recent years, environmentalists are continuously stressing how important it is to grow natural plants to help local ecosystems. Not only are native plants beautiful, they are also very important to the food web that keeps wildlife alive. Native plants usually need less water and care than non-native plants. This makes them perfect for our hot Texas climate and good for the environment.

The presence of a door prize is an added bonus for attendees, adding a sense of excitement and expectation to the morning’s events. This action not only adds to the friendly setting the Master Gardeners want to create, but it also shows how dedicated they are to building a gardening community in Rockwall County.
This event will teach people about plants and make them want to enjoy the natural beauty of Texas. The Master Gardeners want to start a movement of sustainable and eco-friendly gardening practices across the area by teaching people about gardening.
The Texas NATIVE Plants class is free and everyone is invited to join
Anyone can take the Texas NATIVE Plants class for free, but have in mind that the large meeting room in the Rockwall County Library has limited space. People who want to go should get there early to make sure they get a spot. The event will give locals a chance to learn more about gardening, meet other gardening fans, and maybe even come home with more than just new information.
