Rockwall ISD students shine in National Merit Scholarship Program

Rockwall, Texas – The National Merit Scholarship Program has recognized four exceptional students from Rockwall ISD as they join the elite 1% of students nationwide being named National Merit Scholar Semifinalists. Kudos to Rockwall High School’s Kaley C. and James K., and Rockwall-Heath High School’s Johnpaul R. and Trevor S. for securing their spots amidst stiff competition.

The road ahead for these talented students involves competing with more than 16,000 semifinalists for a share of 7,140 National Merit Scholarships, collectively worth nearly $28 million, set to be offered next spring. To be considered for a scholarship, semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level of the competition.

This phase is highly competitive, with 95% anticipated to achieve finalist status and roughly half of those eventually earning the Merit Scholar title.
