Rockwall, Texas – Members of the Young Men’s Service League (YMSL) Rockwall-Heath chapter, have devoted their time and effort to commemorate and celebrate the service of 73 veterans across Rockwall County in what appears to be a moving tribute to honor local heroes. Under their yearly “Ultimate Gift” campaign, the group placed military branch flags at the homes of 28 Army, 18 Navy, 18 Air Force, and 9 Marine recipients.

Over the previous week, YMSL members and their mothers recorded 190 volunteer hours to gather and install the flags, effectively bringing the initiative to life. This demonstration of gratitude sought to let these veterans know their community firmly supports them and that their sacrifices have not gone unreported.
“YMSL is thankful to have had this opportunity to honor local veterans and wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have served this great nation,” said Amy Hilton, YMSL Ultimate Gift Chair.

Many community partners, like the Rockwall Breakfast Rotary, which provided resources and enthusiasm, helped the effort. Renowned for its long-standing “Stars and Stripes” American flag program, the Rockwall Breakfast Rotary gave YMSL a vital boost toward realizing their vision.
The Ultimate Gift project of the Rockwall-Heath YMSL chapter is not only a one-time act but also a continuation of a larger service history. Every year the chapter chooses a project that strengthens ties, advances service, and increases their influence on the local community. For the young men and mothers of YMSL, these encounters forge close relationships with the community they serve as well as with one another.
This sincere endeavor reminds Rockwall people of the value of community, unity, and the respect due to those who have courageously worn the uniform. Through this flag exhibit, YMSL has paid a visual respect to the bravery, devotion, and service to veterans.
