Rockwall, Texas – Rockwall residents who play pickleball regularly at Hickory Ridge Park will have to find a new place to play for the next few weeks. Starting Monday, November 6, 2023, Rockwall Parks & Recreation has said that the Hickory Ridge Pickleball Courts will be closed for repairs.
Hickory Ridge Pickleball Courts renovation will last several weeks
The much-anticipated improvements to the beloved courts should take between four and six weeks, but work may be slowed down by bad weather. In order to improve the playing experience, the rebuilding plans call for a complete makeover. This will include better irrigation, the installation of high-quality artificial turf, and a new red-and-gray color scheme on the courts.

These changes aren’t just for looks. With the introduction of artificial turf, a consistent playing field that needs less upkeep and lasts longer in bad weather is expected. These improvements show that Rockwall Parks & Recreation is dedicated to keeping its community’s recreation spaces up to date.
Harry Myers Courts are operational and can be used as an alternative
Rockwall locals don’t have to stay stuck, though. The Harry Myers Courts are open and ready for pickleball players who need a place to play while the courts are being fixed up. This says that the city is ready to handle its active citizens having to move temporarily.

Rockwall Parks & Recreation started the Hickory Ridge Pickleball Courts project on June 4, 2021. Since the pickleball courts were ready and operational, it was immediately evident that the number of pickleball enthusiast has been growing in Rockwall. Hickory Ridge Pickleball Courts has since become popular spot for pickleball fans.
Hickory Ridge Pickleball Courts are located at the Hickory Ridge Park
The 13-acre Hickory Ridge Park is more than just a sports center. It’s a place for the community that’s open every day from 5 am to 10 pm and has play and splash areas, a basketball court, a lunch shelter, and two fishing ponds. The park is located at 1910 Walnut Ridge Dr, Rockwall, TX. It is a popular spot for many activities, such as walking dogs, playing basketball, fishing, or just spending a sunny day with family and pets.
