Rockwall, Texas – Dr. Karen Williamson, a well-known dentist in Rockwall, has made a kind plan to pay for a local teenager to spend a week at Pine Cove camp. This is an inspiring act of community service that many other Rockwall based businesses should follow. The kind act of giving this summer experience will be unique for a young person between the ages of 13 and 17.

Dr. Williamson and the team at Karen Williamson DDS are looking for people to nominate for this one-of-a-kind opportunity. Rockwall community, including parents or guardians, is invited to send a one-page letter to [email protected] outlining the teen’s needs and how a week at Pine Cove could make their life better. The deadline for entries is November 30, 2023, which gives people plenty of time to write and enter the “competition”.

The act of kindness is nothing but a saying “thank you” to the community. Dr. Williamson and her dentist team want to repay the community for its support over the years. “We are so thankful for those who have poured into our lives,” Dr. Williamson said on Facebook, bringing out the Thanksgiving attitude that drives this project.
Dr. Karen Williamson’s journey shows how dedicated she is to her job and the people in her community. After finishing from Friendswood High School, she went to Baylor University and then to Dallas to attend Baylor College of Dentistry.
As part of her training, she did a residency in general practice at the VA Medical Center in Dallas. According to the company’s website, she also got more training at Children’s Hospital Dallas and Denton State School. She started her own private general dentistry office in Rockwall in 1993, where she provides a wide range of general and cosmetic dental services.

Dr. Williamson lives in Rockwall with her husband Bruce and their four children. She is involved in the choir at her church and loves to hike, spend time with her family, and find new and interesting places in Texas.

The lucky teenager will spend a week at Pine Cove, a Christian camp in Texas, South Carolina, and Georgia that is based on the Gospel. Since its start in 1967, Pine Cove has worked to give over 45,000 kids a fun, Christ-centered place to be each summer. Pine Cove claims to be the best week of summer for everyone who visits the camp. It’s known for its fun activities, deep relationships, and outdoor adventures.
