Rockwall, Texas – The excitement is palpable as Rockwall High School prepares for its annual Homecoming Parade this year, scheduled for Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 6:00 pm. As always, such events draw large crowds and necessitate certain road closures to ensure everyone’s safety.
The parade’s route will begin at Wilkerson Sanders Stadium/Utley and continue towards Dobbs Elementary. Specifically, it will commence at Utley Middle School, head north along TL Townsend up to Boydstun, take a left on Boydstun, and finally turn right on Clark St. This path notably deviates from past years, now following the same route as the 4th of July and Downtown Christmas parades.
Rockwall residents are advised to plan alternative routes after 5:45 pm
To accommodate the parade, specific roads will be temporarily inaccessible. TL Townsend will see closures from East Yellowjacket to Boydstun, while South Clark Street will be shut from East Boydstun Street to E Kaufman. These closures are set to begin at 5:45 pm, so residents and visitors are advised to anticipate delays.
For those familiar with the area, Wisdom Field will remain open and can be used to cut across. With traffic restrictions in place, it is recommended that everyone consider alternative routes to avoid any inconvenience.
