Rockwall County, Texas – With the Texas Comptroller’s Office distributing around $1.5 billion in sales tax income statewide, Rockwall County’s cities stand to gain from a significant allotment this month. Six Rockwall County cities will together get close to $6 million among the beneficiaries; the City of Rockwall will share most of this.
Based on December sales recorded by monthly filers as well as fourth-quarter and annual tax records from companies, the distributions show a strong time of consumer activity. With slightly under $4.6 million, Rockwall, the biggest city in the county, represents 77% of the entire money allocated to the local governments. This represents a 5.5% rise from the same period previous year, so indicating consistent city economic growth. From last year’s $7.45 million, Rockwall has so far collected more than $7.6 million in sales tax income, a small 2.4% increase.
With an allocation of $1.02 million and a startling 33.2% increase from the year before, Royse City comes in second. The city’s year-to-date total now stands at $1.72 million—16.5% higher than the $1.46 million it had received at this point in 2024. This dramatic rise points to a significant retail and commercial presence, therefore confirming Royse City as a rising economic center of Rockwall County.

The city’s growing economic impact and continuous expansion are highlighted by this consistent increase in sales tax income.
Fate, the meantime, was given $372,498. Although this shows a 3.77% rise over last year, its year-to-date total of $656,356 is somewhat less than the $658,200 recorded in 2024—a little 0.12% decline. Though the difference is slight, it indicates a period of somewhat consistent sales tax collecting for Fate.
With $87,924 and $10,816 respectively, McLendon-Chisholm and Mobile City filled out the county’s allotment. Reflecting a 2.3% increase, McLendon-Chisholm has so far this year $146,659; Mobile City has witnessed a 14.46% increase to $20,018 in total allocations for 2025.

Driven by consumer expenditure, corporate growth, and continuous development, the steady rising trend of sales tax payments points to a healthy local economy. These allocations will be very important for funding necessary municipal services and infrastructure enhancements as the county moves into 2025.
