Rockwall, Texas – Promising a variety of Texas natives, perennials, winter annuals, and seeds, the Rockwall County Master Gardeners (RCMGA) are holding their long-awaited Fall Plant Sale. The sale is already running and residents of Rockwall who want to buy plants can make their purchases no later than October 5. Along with popular garden classics, the sale will bring interesting new plants like the Cottage Garden Cut Flower Seeds, perfect for people wishing to further add vintage charm in their settings.
What sets this year’s event apart is the introduction of a scholarship opportunity aimed at supporting the next generation of horticulturists. This program provides a special incentive for those who enjoy gardening to make investments in their gardens, therefore promoting horticultural educational progress. All graduating high school seniors living in Rockwall County who want to pursue a degree in this green profession are eligible for the scholarship.

RCMGA has promised to match every purchase made with seed sales, with all matched money going straight toward the scholarship fund. RCMGA has pledged to match up to $500 of seed sales. This allows visitors to not only improve their own gardens but also support the learning endeavors of a nearby student driven by horticulture.
With credit or debit cards, PayPal, Venmo among other payment options, orders and payments for the Fall Plant Sale are due by October 5, 2024. The actual plant pickup at the new Rockwall County Extension Service office at 915 Whitmore Dr Suite B, Rockwall, TX 75087 is slated for Saturday, October 19th, between 9 am and 12 pm. For those unable to make it to the pickup site, Rockwall County residents have a delivery option for an extra $20 that guarantees the plants are promptly delivered to buyers’ front doors on the weekend of October 19th and 20th.
This fall, the Rockwall County Master Gardeners are making it easy and rewarding to “Plant Seeds for the Future,” both literally and metaphorically. Participating in the Fall Plant Sale allows the Rockwall community to help a young horticulturist’s education and beautify their gardens, therefore promoting development in their backyards and their neighborhood.
