Suspect taken into custody following a high-speed chase that started in Rockwall County and ended in Dallas

Rockwall County, Texas – A high-speed chase originating from Rockwall County and ending in Dallas resulted in the arrest of a suspect early Saturday morning. The man, whose identity is yet to be disclosed by authorities, faces several charges, including evading arrest.

Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office started the pursuit around 3 a.m. after the driver failed to stop the vehicle

The pursuit began shortly before 3 a.m. when deputies from the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Office attempted to intercept what was believed to be a stolen vehicle. Ignoring commands to halt, the driver led law enforcement on an intense chase that saw speeds exceed 100 miles per hour as he sought escape through South Dallas.

Several law enforcement agencies joined forces to take the suspect into custody

State troopers joined forces with local officers both on ground level and via air surveillance during this dangerous operation. As scanner traffic suggests, it appears that a black Ford Mustang became instrumental in evasion maneuvers involving eastbound I-30 initially, then back westbound route, where, at one point, deputies lost sight of the suspect due to excessive speed.

The suspect was arrested in the 4500 block of Botham Jean Boulevard after abandoning his car

Despite the suspect’s attempts, though, his luck ran out eventually. After abandoning his car within the vicinity of the 4500 block of Botham Jean Boulevard, the suspect tried to flee the scene, but officers with the Dallas Police Department managed to catch him after a brief foot sprint. He was immediately apprehended.

Some concerns regarding the health status of the suspect arose, and he was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities said that the suspect sustained minor injuries during the high-speed chase. Fortunately, no law enforcement employees were injured in this incident.
