Rockwall announces special early hours for Harry Myers and Gloria Williams pools from June 30 to July 5 to beat summer heat

Rockwall, Texas – It’s splash season in Rockwall, and both locals and visitors are getting an early warning that the hours of the city’s two main public pools will this week. Families are looking for ways to cool off as the summer heat settles in. Rockwall Parks and Recreation is making sure everyone knows when and where to dive in.

Harry Myers Pool and Gloria Williams Pool will be open for special hours from Monday, June 30 to Saturday, July 5. The pools will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day. These new times are different from the normal timetable, which has pools opening in the afternoons on weekdays and closing early on Saturdays. If you’re going to the pool this week, please note the change and take advantage of the extra swim time in the morning.

Both pools are open to swimmers of all ages and have prices that are easy on the wallet. Kids under 2 can always get into Harry Myers Pool for free. Kids between the ages of 2 and 17 who live in Rockwall pay $2, while kids who don’t live in Rockwall pay $3.

Adults 18 and older can attend for $3 if they live in the Rockwall area or $5 if they don’t. Family passes are also available, which is a cheap option for families to enjoy the day together. At Gloria Williams Pool, the prices are much easier to understand: kids under 12 get in free, kids 12 and up pay $1 or $2, and families of four or more pay as little as $2.

To make sure everyone has a fun and safe experience, the pool staff are also reminding people of several crucial guidelines. Only appropriate swimwear is allowed, and kids under 10 must be with an adult who will be watching them the whole time. You can use flotation devices that are certified by the U.S. Coast Guard, but you should check that they are safe.

You can’t run, roughhouse, or play with horses, and you can’t bring food or drinks into the pool deck area. Those are for the picnic areas. Glass containers, alcohol, and tobacco products are not allowed. Also, there can’t be any distractions surrounding the lifeguard posts for everyone’s safety.

There is also a focus on pool etiquette and being responsible for oneself. Everyone who goes inside the fenced-in pool area must pay the entrance fee, whether they plan to swim or just watch. And, as always, lifeguards ask that everyone follow their directions and stay away from the safety ropes and lane markers.
