Fort Worth strengthens emergency services with the launch of Fire Station 43 set for Feb. 18

Fort Worth, Texas – On February 18th, the City of Fort Worth is set to celebrate the spectacular opening of Fire Station 43, an important contribution to the infrastructure of the city. This important event signifies a turning point in improving emergency services in one of the fastest-growing sectors of the city. The station, which is located at 2200 Walsh Ranch Parkway, will start running with a ceremony planned for 9 a.m., highlighting its contribution to increase local fire safety and response capacity.

Fire Station 43 is set to open in response to Fort Worth’s west side’s fast growth, especially in the Interstate 30 region. It will mostly benefit the Walsh Ranch community and environs, which have seen significant growth lately. For a community that has been underserved in terms of emergency services relative to their development, this station becomes an essential asset.

Attendees for the ceremony will be distinguished visitors including City Manager Jay Chapa, Assistant City Manager Dana Burghdoff, District 3 Councilmember Michael Crain, Fire Chief Jim Davis, and Walsh Ranch family members. Their presence emphasizes the station’s significance to the neighborhood and the city’s commitment to guarantee the safety and welfare of its growing borders.

Strategically placed on two acres of given property by the Walsh family, Station 43 highlights the community’s cooperative nature. The 2014 bond, which was overwhelmingly passed by voters and reflects public support for enhanced emergency services, funded the building of the station.

Including three equipment bays meant to meet future needs and growth, the facility covers about 11,000 square feet. This foresight ensures that Station 43 can adapt as the community continues to grow. The building itself, constructed of durable masonry, follows a single-story prototype floorplan, totaling a cost of about $9.1 million. This expenditure shows the city’s commitment not just to current citizens but also to next generations in the Walsh Ranch area.

Twelve firefighters will work Station 43, split over three shifts to offer 24-hour coverage. It will hold one engine and one brush truck, thereby arming the crew to manage a spectrum of fire events and incidents typical of the region, including possible brush fires occurring in less populated areas.
