Rockwall, Texas – Rockwall Dance Academy (RDA) is set to stage its annual production of the classic Nutcracker Ballet this December, marking seven consecutive years of bringing Tchaikovsky’s magical masterpiece to life. The much-anticipated event will take place on Saturday, December 16th, at Rockwall-Heath High School – Performing Arts Center. Per the Rockwall Dance Academy, there will be two Nutcracker Ballet shows scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Nutcracker Ballet by Rockwall Dance Academy is a truly special event
Every year since its inception, Rockwall Dance Academy has held auditions in May for their traditional holiday Nutcracker Ballet performance. The academy welcomes dancers as young as three years old who are enrolled in a ballet class during the fall semester through Rockwall Dance Academy. To show their dedication to developing skills from a young age, they’ve let kids as young as two years old take part. This makes it a truly family-friendly event that involves people of all ages in the community.

In the months before the big performance, there is a lot of hard work to do and preparations to make. The choreography is taught starting in July, followed by bimonthly practices. Starting in September, the preparations take place every Saturday until showtime arrives in mid-December.
Tickets for the Nutcracker Ballet go on sale on November 20
Tickets go on sale Monday, November 20th, at 10 a.m., giving everyone plenty of time to get them before they sell out due to high demand, something the academy knows from previous seasons. This is mostly because people look forward to not only watching but also taking part themselves or supporting loved ones performing onstage. In fact, every winter brings something special to the audience thanks to the spectacular entertainment sessions provided by our very own local gem, Rockwall Dance Academy.
