Rockwall ISD calendar 23–24: events, holidays, and more

Rockwall, Texas – The Rockwall Independent School District has issued the Rockwall ISD calendar 23-24 to inform the Rockwall community about all the events, happenings, and holidays during the 23–24 school year. The calendar is here to help students, parents, teachers, and school administration employees easily plan their activities throughout the school year.

Rockwall Independent School District contains 22 schools and 16,987 students. The district’s minority enrollment is 40%. Also, 17.6% of students are economically disadvantaged. Rockwall ISD is composed of 10 preschools, 14 elementary schools, 14 middle schools, and 3 high schools.

Rockwall ISD Calendar 23–24: Activities and Events by Month

August

According to Rockwall ISD calendar 23-24, the period between August 2-11 is for staff development/work days. On August 14, there was the first grading period of the school year.

September

There were not many events and activities planned for the month of September, according to the calendar. The exception was on September 4 when Rockwall ISD schools were closed for Labor Day.

October

On October 6, all students were released early. Elementary school students were released at noon, while middle school and high school students were released at 1 p.m. This was the first planned early release of the school year.

The fall break took place from October 9 to October 13, Monday to Friday. October 16 was the second grading period in the Rockwall ISD school year. October 9 and 10 marked the second staff development/work days.

November

November is all about Thanksgiving. The month of November is the official start of the holiday season. According to Rockwall ISD calendar 23-24, students will have a whole week to celebrate Thanksgiving and spend time with their loved ones. The break will start on Monday, November 20, and last until Friday, November 24.

December

On December 15, all students will be released early from school. This is the second early release day for the Rockwall ISD. Elementary school students will be released at noon, while middle school and high school students will be released at 1 p.m.

December is all about Christmas, and this is the most beautiful period of the year. According to Rockwall ISD calendar 23-24, Rockwall ISD students will have a winter break from December 18–January 2. Merry Christmas everyone!

January

On January 2, Rockwall ISD staff will have the first staff development/work days of the new year. On January 15, Rockwall ISD schools will be closed for the MLK Day celebration.

February

There are not many activities and events planned for February. Per Rockwall ISD calendar 23-24, the only activity marked in the calendar is February 19 as staff development/work days.

March

On March 8, all Rockwall ISD students will be released early. This is the third All Early Release Day in the school year. Per Rockwall ISD calendar 23–24, middle school and high school students will be released at 1 p.m.

The spring break at Rockwall ISD is set to take place from March 11 to March 15. This month, students will also have another holiday on March 29.

April

There are two bad weather days planned for April 1 and April 8. It’s worth noting that on April 1, a special meeting of the Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees will take place at 6 p.m. The Rockwall ISD Board of Trustees will also hold a regular board meeting on April 15 at 6 p.m. More details are expected to appear on the Rockwall ISD calendar 23-24 official website as we approach those dates.

Rockwall ISD Calendar 23–24 – May – End of school!

There are plenty of events and happenings going on in the month of May each year, and so is the case for the Rockwall ISD 23-24 school year.

Rockwall ISD will hold a regular board meeting on May 20 starting at 6 p.m.

On May 23, Rockwall ISD plans the fourth and last early release day. Elementary school students will be released at noon, while middle school and high school students will be released at 1 p.m. May 23 marks the last day of school! Cheers!

May 24 is reserved for staff development.

May 29 is reserved for graduation ceremonies. The Rockwall High School graduation ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. The Rockwall-Heath High School graduation ceremony will take place at 7 p.m.

According to the Rockwall ISD calendar 23-24, there are a total of 171 instruction days for the 23-24 school year. There are 79 days in the first semester and 92 days in the second semester. The Rockwall ISD calendar 23-24 was officially approved on June 19, 2023.
