Rockwall, Texas – As July begins, Rockwall residents are getting ready for one of the most exciting days of the summer: the city’s annual Independence Day celebration. This year, the organizers of the Fourth of July have planned a lot of activities that will bring the community together and make memories that will last for families and friends.
A lively procession in the morning will get the celebrations off to a good start. At 11 a.m., individuals will line the parade route as it leaves Wilkerson Stadium and winds its way through the city center before ending at Dobbs Elementary. People are encouraged to show up early to have a good place to watch and soak in the lively, patriotic atmosphere. With floats, marching bands, and plenty of red, white, and blue, the parade aims to stir pride and excitement across all generations.
As the day goes on, the focus moves to Harry Myers Park, which becomes the hub of Rockwall’s Fourth of July events. Families are expected start showing up long before dusk, setting out chairs and blankets on their favorite area of grass. If you’re hungry, a number of food trucks will be open for business from 5 p.m. and will serve anything from standard fair snacks to local delicacies until 9:30 p.m.
Around 6:45 p.m., all eyes will turn skyward for a special parachute jumper show—an exhilarating spectacle sure to captivate kids and adults alike. At 7 p.m., Big as Texas will take the stage and play live music, which will add energy to the evening’s events.

Getting to and from the event is easy because there is a free trolley service that will operate between The Center in Downtown and Harry Myers Park from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. For those opting to drive, paid parking is available at the park.
As night settles in, excitement will grow for the big finish. At dusk, a beautiful fireworks show will light up the sky above Harry Myers Park and the city below in brilliant colors. People are reminded that they can’t let off their own fireworks in the city limits, so everyone can relax and enjoy the professional show in a safe place.
