Rockwall, Texas – The City of Rockwall has announced its annual Christmas Tree Lighting event, set to take place on December 2. Organized by the City of Rockwall and Rockwall Parks and Recreation, the festivities will kick off at 9 a.m., with the organizers leading the proceedings in what promises to be an unforgettable day. The City of Rockwall is getting ready for the holiday season and Christmas, and as every year, Rockwall residents expect the city to be transformed into a real winter wonderland.

The day will start with the 54th Annual Kiwanis Christmas Parade, themed “A Magical Christmas”

The celebrations will commence with the 54th Annual Kiwanis Christmas Parade, themed “A Magical Christmas”. Starting from Yellow Jacket Lane at the historic Rockwall County Courthouse, festive floats adorned with twinkling lights will wind their way through town before ending at Dobbs Elementary School.

There will be tons of holiday activities in the Rockwall Downtown Square area from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

As soon as parade-goers have had their fill of holiday cheer, they can head over to Downtown Square, where activities are scheduled between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. There’s something on offer for everyone. From inflatables that promise endless fun for kids, train rides offering scenic views around downtown, to puppet shows guaranteed to keep attendees entertained throughout, and food trucks serving delicious food.

Attendees can engage in playing some exciting games or just visit the gift market and buy something for themselves or their loved ones.

But it doesn’t end there! Be prepared for taking your perfect Instagram holiday photos because both Santa Claus himself and his nemesis Grinch will also make appearances during these hours. So, don’t forget to bring your camera to capture those precious moments when children meet them face-to-face!

2023 Christmas Tree Lighting in Rockwall

Late afternoon is the time for the grand finale everyone has been waiting eagerly for since last year—the much-awaited annual tree lighting ceremony taking place outside City Hall. The 2023 Christmas Tree Lighting in Rockwall is planned to start at 6 p.m. and will last two hours until 8 p.m.

This event is not only about Christmas tree lighting; it is also a great opportunity to have fun with your kids, family, and friends.
